Personally, I either prefer the itty bitty one's like the micro mini Chihuahua's, or the massive huge breeds. I'm an extremist I suppose, lol. My mom however has a HUGE Golden Retriever we've had for years, and he is an amazing dog. He's had some health issues over the years, mainly dealing with his bones and joints - He has a growth hormone inbalance and weighs in at about 168 pounds and his shoulders come nearly up to my hips, so he's like a huge goliath. It's caused him a lot of trouble structurally speaking, and he now suffers from severe arthritis, fatty tumors all over his body - and expanding in his joints, as well as an enlarged heart and arrhythmia requiring daily doses of medication. (This is very rare, so don't freak thinking it's some "Golden Retriever thing" lol) But honestly, I don't know if it's just him or the Golden breed as a whole - he's the most lovable and social - not to mention obediant dog I've ever come across.
