Sounds sad but both myself, my wife and son all love the personality one of my blood parrots has. Nothing really special about the fish but I would give up rare/expensive fish just to keep this one to watch.

Completely understandable. If you look passed the deformed mouth and ignore pure bloodletting nes they really are the perfect cichlid. Big but not too big, colorful, all the personality usually asociated with the brutes of the hobby yet usually peaceful enough for a community setting. Took me three years to find a replacement for mine, paraneetroplus melanurus.

Favorite than I never kept is an arrowana, powerful yet graceful all in one package. Favorite that I have kept are probably angel fish, I have had fish for 25 out of my 37 years and usually have at least 1 angel fish in one of my tanks.
