Hello MFK,

I just went to a local Asian Grocery Store, and saw tons of wild things sold as food: Duck Tongue, Cow penis, Partridge, Live fish (Carp, rockfish, tilapia, Catfish), Crawdads, Freeze-dried Sardines, Live Smelt, Duck feet, Chicken Knee, Tarro Cake, Quail Eggs, Whole Goats, and more. Then, after, I persuaded my dad to go to an American Butcher shop. I saw whole quail, whole duck, Cow balls, but nothing that stands out, like live, or anything other than cow, goat, turkey, and some other common meat.

So now I have a question; what is your favorite food? And can you list your nationality as well. I was thinking, maybe Asian Food is more diverse than American food. Plus, I think this could be a nice thread to mess around for the week lol.

Cow penis.

Cow balls.

Which subject is it that they no longer teach in schools today: Biology or English?

...and why exactly is it that you think that the foods you just listed are "wild" ? It's literally food. And why are you asking about people's nationality (as opposed to ethnicity) ? And what counts as Asian food vs American food?

Oh, and to answer your questions:

Nationality? Canadian.

Favourite food? That's easy: Bull ovaries, sauteed in turtle milk and then served on a bed of wild tofu.

Remember the old saying, about making sure that the brain is in gear before engaging the mouth? It's even more important before deploying the keyboard.

Funnily enough there is a new Asian grocery store just opened up close to where I live. I was going to amble on down there and have a look at their tantalising wares. But I don't think i'll bother now....thanks for the heads up!

All i can say is i’ve tried everything you listed from the Asian grocery store.

I mean it may seem unusual to most but when prepared properly by skilled chefs most of those items can taste pretty good and honestly you may not even know what you were eating unless being told...

Its like Japanese yakitori... they use all parts of the chicken to produce skewers that are cooked on a charcoal grill... that includes stuff such as chicken hearts, liver, kidneys etc and again, when done properly tastes pretty darn good imo...

However, with that said depending which country you live in it maybe a bit more difficult to find a place that can prepare said dishes well...

Well this took a wild turn.

I think he's just kind of saying he's never seen these before or even heard of them. I personally havent heard of a few like chicken knees or tarro cake or duck tongue. I dont thnk he means any disrespect to anyones ethnicity or nationality, we have people all over the world on here (nothing wrong with that)

Your favorite food sounds interesting. Never heard of turtle milk. Would maybe try it one day. Dont know where to find them, nothing is really near me lol besides chick fil a and mcdonalds.

Also....

My favorite food is probably sushi. All kinds of rolls, I love tempura and cream cheese ones the best.
