I think you should use words better next time. Your post came across as incredibly insensitive and othering of the Asian community. And if you've been paying attention to the news at all this past week, you'd know that now's Not A Good Time To Do That (really it's never a good time, but specifically now).Bananas. Yum! Im Eurasian and honestly didn’t find the op’s post offensive... in fact it seems to be pretty much the standard reaction to what happens when westerners see some of the Asian food stalls / food items for the first time in Asia...
I used to take a lot of my friends to eat what they would call unusual foods when they would visit me from overseas and their reactions were pretty much always the same as the op when i would order them stuff like chicken / duck feet at Yum Cha, duck tongue at Taiwanese restaurants or chicken hearts etc from Yakitori places...
For those that had the kahunas to try the foods they were almost always pleasantly surprised how good it tasted and for the others, they would be straight up be revolted at the idea of eating it...
So maybe im just desensitized to these reactions but find it pretty normal considering for them its got to be a culture shock the first time they see / think about these being food items people eat rather than throw away as scrap...
