not too fast...right now he is between 10-11 inches. i dont think this particular specimen is a good example of Longnose gar growth. i do have updated pics though. i'll post them later tonight.

at least hes still growing at a good rate... cant wait to see your updated long nose gar pics.

Jordan...are long nose gars the second most aggressive gar species? since they grow all most as fast as gator gars

mine is far from the most aggressive gar ive seen. sooo...judging by mine i would say no. again...this is only based off of my experience w/ one specimen (longnose gar) and of course all gar are predatory fish so they are aggressive to a certain degree. cubans are supposedly the second most aggressive and then the trop (IMO).

Cubans are the second most aggressive species, with tropicals a far distance behind, then perhaps Florida/spotted, and then shortnose/longnose...

aggression towards other fishes and aggression in feeding can be different though, there are many shortnose specimens i have kept which were aggressive feeders compared to some other gar species, but not aggressive towards other tankmates.

when speaking of the second most aggressive though, i would definitely say Cubans--

the croc II tends to be close, if not a bit more aggressive than the Cubans, although there may be interaction effects taking place as well, since the Cubans and croc II are in the same tank. i would imagine that if separated, the croc may be more aggressive, but it's hard to say...both fishes (croc II & 2 Cubans) may keep the other in check.

the croc is around 21-22" now, give or take; i don't have any updated pics other than what has been posted in photo threads in recent past; probably won't get new ones up for another week or so at earliest--

croc II is still growing, but has slowed down quite a bit...the fish is growing more in girth than length now, but still puts on length little by little by each month.

the big gars are in a 270g tank with a 50g sump, the dimensions are 6' x 3' x 2', the tank was made specifically with gars in mind...it also houses an ~18" AUL --
