You like what you like and we like what we like... Half the fish you might like and love are hybrids. You have African Cichlids don't you??? and half of them are hybrids. If you don't like hybrids then that's your problem but don't come on a thread that don't have s*** to do with you and f*** it up for others please.

I like the Red Texas. I think a Texas and Festae would be awesome. I love my Festae just the way she is though. She's my baby :)

Happily married Mommy of 3 babies, 2 fur babies and 15 gilled babies

I don't see why some people get so offended by hybrid fish. After all most domestic pets we keep (such as most breeds of dogs) would have never have occurred in the wild. They only exist through decades of being bred by man. Do the same people walk down the street and criticize someone for having a poodle? Plus, is it really natural to keep fish in an aquarium in your home anyway? After all you're still messing with nature by keeping fish in a tank that's much smaller than their natural home.

I for one prefer the full blooded real thing with cichlids but I find it really cool to see the hybrids and different color variations that result. Some people are so negative.

I like both pure bred, and hybrid species of cichlids; I have 2 hybrids in my tank right now, along with a pure bred. I have a juvenile Red Texas cichlid I'm trying to get rid of, also have a juvenile Kamfa Flowerhorn, and then a juvenile Red Devil. I'm trying to rehome the Red Texas, and the Red Devil so I can bring in a Blood Red Parrot cichlid to breed with my male Kamfa Flowerhorn.
