That's not line bred, though - it's an unintentional mix that's not being mass produced with the intentions of profit.

There's nothing wrong with having two fish in a community tank accidentally breed, but things like the flower horn project are the reason nobody has access to convicts that grow over 5 inches or pure line midas/red devils without paying an arm and a leg for proof of collection.

no i think it was planned to be bred, not for a mass profit though, maybe for a personal profit and a personal benifit profit.

but i get where you're coming from at the same time.
i'm not a fan of like, flowerhorns or parrots or anything like that.
TSN X RTC is pretty cool to be quite honest.

but people hybridizing fish to maximize a profit and creating something
that shouldn't be creating because it's just not in gods way i don't think is cool.

The point behind the argument is that mass produced hybrids detract from the original species and can ultimately have more negative than positive affects, as seen with the hybridization of red devils/midas, convicts from various collection points, and how people commonly think of a blood parrot rather than the original parrot cichlid in the hobby when they hear the name. :)

There's nothing wrong with mutts. :)

lol sorry for never being introduced to a real parrot haha.
some fish, you will never come in contact with.

and are you calling my texas terror a mutt?

Not trying to come off as rude or anything here man - sorry if it seemed that way with the parrot comment.

Before my time in the hobby, but I guess they used to be fairly common - and if you've seen one full grown you'd wish they still were.
