I must still go catch some Hydrocynus vittatus, the live in the far East of South Africa if I recall correctly.

Thats huge imagine if that bichir were still alive!!!!!
It would be pretty insane, unfortunately we only have a little bit of fossil evidence for it and other prehistoric polypterids

I would need a 10x4x4 or there about to home my dream
I want a Festa harem setup. One big male, three females, Red hooks as dithers, and a school of Ornatus cats.
That sounds awesome dude also question whats a festa harem because when i searched it up what came up was a bar/stripper area

A harem of festae cichlids

So a harem is when you have several femals for one male.

The fish is a Mesoheros Festae "Red Terror"

Not my pics, from Google
Here is a male

And a female

The males can grow out to 18-22 inches, the females 12inch plus

Here is a male I had for a bit, but I rehomed him cause I couldn't house it for life.

Some call them True Red Terror or go by the scientific name of Festae due to another fish that goes my the common name of Red Terror.

Real Red Terror are Mesoheros Festae

False ones are Mayaheros uropthalmus

I'm not into giant fish anymore...I don't want anything that I can't keep throughout its natural lifespan without worrying that it's cramped...but I kept the big guys for many years when I was younger. My absolute all-time favourite, for reasons that I still don't understand, was the Giant Osphronemus gourami.

Mine was drably coloured, completely non-aggressive, not hugely interactive, certainly not graceful...but, wow, I thought that was the coolest fish that ever swam. Nothing I like better than a big tank with a bunch of small fish in it, living peacefully with one or two great big honking monsters that don't bother the little guys.
