Hey guys, what are you're favourite earth Eaters? I am looking to get a shoal or 2 of around 6 in each. What are all you're favourite species? Hopefully it'll help me decide as I'm struggling hah!

Dicrozoster is my favourite. I like the black cheek mark and the overall colouration of the fish.
Also really like all the satanoperca group,a big peaceful fish that will only prey on the smallest of tankmates.

I'm a big fan of the Gymnogeophagus. They do well with 2 males and 4 to 6 females, stay small enough or an average size aquarium (75 to 100 gallons) and don't need heaters.

There are also Central American eartheaters of the genus Astatheros that like to live in groups if the tank is large enough.
