FDA Approves Clone Meats and Dairy

To defend those that find cloned meat a little creepy, I have to agree. People seems to get very bent out of shape when it comes to something personal... and you really can't get any more personal than what we put in our stomachs.
But to think about it, there are already commercially available genetically modified crops that are widely consumed in this country. There are long lists of chemicals that are used in food processing, raising of farm animals, you name it.
Being in America not only means being in the "land of the free", but also the "land of over abundance of food"... in fact, enormous amount of food is left to rot or otherwise disposed of (millions of tons) here. The government pays farmers (aka corporations) billions in subsidies to NOT grow food. But the situation is much grimmer in other parts of the world. Coloned meat are is just one of the latest in a swarm of modern advances in how we humans can save ourselves from critical food shortages. The population is growing while there are only so many land we can use to grow and raise crops and animals. Forget about global warming, we are doomed if we can't feed ourselves!
