If u feed 6 times a day they will probably die from being over fed... Jus a thought.... Try closer to 2 or 3 times a day. Clean water high quality food and they will grow... As for how fast ill let somone else answer that part

the one I had a few years ago grew really fast, jus make sure they eat a lot

I have had mine about 7 months now and after hitting the 5 inch mark he has slowed down with growing. He's fed twice a day and also will snack on the veggies I give my pleco. He is fed brine shrimp, blood worms and he also will eat the cichlid pellets my oscar is fed. They do get kind of aggressive with other bottom fish.

This is mine, Captain.

His dorsal fin stands about 3.5 or 4 inches when it's upright. As you can see he's started to develop their belly and almost triangle shaped body they get as they age. He's very plump and happy and will actually swim up to my hand when it's in the tank.

There is one that lives at my LFS and it's about 8 inches long and is about 5 years old. It's taken it quite some time for it to reach that size.

Why are you wanting it to grow so fast though?

I feed my featherfin two small meals per day, and he gets whatever food the other fish in the tank miss. When I got him he was almost five inches. He's grown about half an inch in the month or so I've had him.

Just keep the water clean, and provide 2-3 smallish meals per day,and the fish will have the best opportunity to grow.
