My local store had got some featherfin catfish and I fell in love with these handsome little guys. He is maybe two inches long right now, I have him in my 100g community tank.

I read online that they appreciate company of others of his type? Should I purchase another one?

In the next few months, I want too get another huge tank and put him in there once he is much bigger. With blood parrots, and maybe some electric blue jack dempseys.

No my water isnt cloudy it's the way the light reflects off of the OLD glass. This is an old hand me down tank that my boss was getting rid of. So I jumped on it, it came with a hood, a marineland emperor bio wheel filter, and a stand. It had been in a garage for 5+ years. It was free!

Nice cute little guy. Be warned. They don't stay cute once they are full grown. I've kept mine alone with the company of other kinds of catfish and he terrorizes them. Beautiful fish indeed when full grown.

Mine (Ted) seems fine solo, 6-7"

The only fish he occasionally doesn't get along with is Rufus the 9" pleco.
He likes his pellets and zucchini as well he is about three years old

Mine hides during the day and then comes out at night. Typical behavior from what I have heard and seen. He wont be in this tank long. Just wanted to get him and let him grow.

Then I am going to get a 55 and put him and either a blood parrot or a electric blue jack dempsey

I've always love my syno eupterus even with size I think they look amazing. Their whiskers under the mouth are very detailed. Eupterus are one of my favorite fish

Syno eupterus like to be housed with another when smaller but as they grow into full grown adults typically they get territorial and like to have their own spot. I've never seen mine get aggressive with other fish. I find mine to be very active even during the day. Other synodontis species are more suitable in schools like the petricola and multipunctatus

They are one of the nicer looking synos imo. Love the long trailers they develope but mine was so aggressive to my other cats so I had to rehome it.

I have twenty bottom dwellers and mine is fine with them but I have an 8x3 footprint so he doesn't feel so cramped which I think is the main source of aggression
