You could slip in a few for the larger one as treats. My seng is 3" and I'm ready to give him guppy fry now, but friends want to raise my fancies. Can't wait to get feeder guppies and ghost shrimp to let him chase around
when my senegal hit around 4" he started snagging feeders that i had to have for my nandus nandus. then he got feeders about twice a week and i really think it boosted his growth as i experienced 2 1/2" in less then a month on him. i have a new baby senegal that i think i'm going to try feeders on once he gets big enough to see if i have similar results.
well imo it was a combination of a variety of factors:
1. Genes; must have been a fast grower
2. Temperature; had it around 80 constantly
3. Feedings; live fish, frozen food
4. The magic touch....lol no. i didn't even actually do very big w/c's around 25% a week.

Basically, you setup a tank to keep the fish by itself, and feed feed feed! Feeders, prepared foods high in protein, etc...
Biiiig water changes up to twice a week.
Makes your fish explode in growth.
i don't feed my birchers feeder fish because the only feeder that i have seen i my area are goldfish wich are very unhealthy but i plan on breeding plattys for feaders soon
Brtn, they should have rosy reds near you too. You could also try breeding guppies as feeders.
Serg, I don't think I want to powerfeed him. Just want him to get fairly large by the time spring rolls around. Would you recommend rosies, goldfish, or ghost shrimp?
