FedEx is a Joke

Not trying to be rude but anybody who uses FedEx gets what they deserve!!! FedEx is a complete joke and I will never understand how they are still in business!!! I will not buy anything if I know the seller uses FedEx and I don't care what it is.. The last time I ordered something off ebay and the seller shipped it with fedex the package was 5 minutes away from my house for 4 days then they sent it way up north in Michigan, let it sit there for 3 days then FedEx gave it to USPS in Michigan and they shipped it back to me 3 days later!!! Almost 2 weeks late altogether!!! NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE THOSE MORONS FOR ANY REASON!!!!!!!

Really sorry to hear about all of you who lost fish because of them!!!!

I look at the freight companies the way I look at airlines. I traveled for my job for many years. I would be k n a plane 3-4 days a week, all over the country. Sooner or later they all pissed me off because of non weather bone headed decisions. Ship enough fish and they will do something stupid.

I realize this post is months old, but I suspect most people shipping fish via FedEx do not follow most of the required policies in order to do so. Taken from their website-

Live Animals and Ornamental Marine Life (Including Live Fish)

FedEx Express does not accept live-animal shipments as part of its regular-scheduled service and does not transport household pets such as dogs, cats, birds and hamsters. FedEx Express may accept certain shipments of live animals such as horses, livestock and zoo animals (to and from zoo locations only) on an exception basis if approved and coordinated by the FedEx Live Animal Desk (call 1.800.405.9052).

If approved by FedEx, we may accept non-venomous reptiles, amphibians, live/tropical fish and beneficial insects on an exception basis under the following conditions:
Shipments must be from a business to a business (from a breeder to a pet store, for example).
The shipper must have its packaging tested and pre-approved by FedEx Packaging Design and Development for the type of animal being shipped. Call 1.800.633.7019 for assistance. It is the responsibility of the shipper to adequately package shipments for all temperature extremes and handling conditions.
Contact your FedEx account executive for details and additional requirements.

So even if the shipper went ahead and went through the approval, in most cases they are not shipping to a business. I have to guess that the only people approved by FedEx are the people shipping out a dozen boxes a day.

Makes it hard to fault them for being unwilling to pay. As mentioned by a few others, shippers do get steep discounts for shipping often with FedEx or UPS. This shipper got his with FedEx I'm sure, hard to fault him for wanting to save 50% or more on shipping. And lets be honest, given the chance most people are cheap and would go that same route to save a few bucks.

I have now officially had more fish killed by USPS than any other carrier. Had a shipment coming overnight to be delivered by noon today. I call at one, and the best they can tell me is that it isn't where it started but they are certain it hasn't landed in Kansas City. It is 30 degrees out, so dead fish for sure. No carrier can give worse tracking. All other carriers can tell you where in the system it is. The PO can't only tell you where it isn't. "Sorry, but you can get your shipping refunded." Thanks.
