high protein foods, but a varied diet is also important so feed a bunch of different foods. feed many small meals through out the day.

Trying to feed these picky fish a varied diet, sounds good in theory, but your going to waste a lot of money and fish food, just stick to live food until there around six inches, then attemp to convert....Good Luck

Actually a lot of the non chain store LFS in my area sell other feeders besides goldfish. I can only imagine how bad petland/petco feeders might be...

In other news my baby pbass has followed the lead of the other fish and decided to down pellets and bloodworms, no need for feeders :headbang2

he didnt ask for the cheapest way, just the best way.

At that small of a age, try and feed them bits of shrimp, silver sides, bio gold pellets, blood worms, etc.

I find it easier to convert them from live to frozen food at a smaller size.

:lol3:

haha uhm quarantine some rosy red minnows or feeder guppies... i fed those to my baby orinos and they grew like crazy in the first week i had em. but once you get them on a regular feeding routine try and alternating live feeders and frozen krill to get them off live... i did this with my 3 inch orinos and they are eating nothing but krill.
