Hey all! I want to ask as many questions as I can before I make a decision like this for my tank. Does anyone have experience keeping bichir alongside a feeder colony of guppies or likewise fish? It’s a 90g with a Sen, a Del and an albino, I have plant coverage from swords, subwasserstag and others. Would a colony survive in the tank or would it get torn apart between three bichir?

In my experience, they can be fairly efficient predators. I occasionally toss my extra bait in my current tank and a few dozen are lucky to make it 30 minutes. I rarely see them go for anything that isn't edible size, but if they are large enough I don't think it would work unless you have very passive individuals.

It's been years since I've kept senegals and they were generally easier to mix with small fish, but my current delhezi is a fairly accomplished hunter. Of the different polypterus species out there, senegals and delhezi might have to best chance to succeed
