goldfish are poison for your p's. Especially feeders. They secrete a hormone which makes it hard for your p's to metabolize B vitamins. This can lead to all kinds of disease like hole-in-the-head, lateral line disease etc. Also feeders are kept in sub-par conditions and usually contain parasites. If you're gonna feed live (I do) stick to tetras and cichlids.

you shouldn't feed beef either. beefheart is okay when they're young, but there are no naturally occuring herds of cattle swimming through the amazon during rainy season. Stick to white fleshed fish, crustaceans, and maybe the occasionally chicken because P's do eat birds. If you can get em on pellet's more power to you. I've never personally had any luck.

ask any respectable piranha keeper and they will tell you goldfish, rosys and pretty much any kind of cyprinidae will stunt the growth..

if your not gonna listen to the opefe then who else would u listen to?


dont feed goldfish or rosy reds.. they are bad for your Ps..

more specifically goldfish contain thiaminase..which depletes your p's thiamine. This vitamin is needed for normal neural development of animals. Not worth the risk dude.

Hi,there are so many other foods for predatory fishes which are less expensive ,easier to feed and more nutritious,being disease free.

actually live fish is pretty nutritious for other carnivorous fish. its just the parasites that are bad but u can just qurantine them.

yeah live fish not in the cyprinid family are nutritious. Not cyprinids like gold fish. DON'T FEED GOLDFISH!
