quarantine any and all live feeders.. reguardless if captive or wild caught. also if you go wild caught check your state laws reguarding the taking of bait fish. my gar get goldfish regularly, i use to have a TSN that only ate live for a very long time. nightcrawlers are also a great live food with minimal disease worries, most fish suck them down like noodles ( also one of the healthiest feeders available). they are a staple in the diet of a majority of my fish. personally i aim for 60/40 prepared/live or frozen in all my fishes diets.
