Just wondering if any of you feed your polys feeder frogs. I know they are often being fed to Arowanas as they are very nutritious but are there any clear disadvantages/harmful effects of feeding our polys frogs?

Frogs can be fed to bichirs. Just make sure they are small enough and non-toxic

Awesome, I recently started my polys on a diet of frogs with good responses as well ad good results. Wondering if they carry the same risk as other feeders eg. Diseases and parasites from Feeder fish/goldfish

you can do that. Just make sure the frogs are a lot smaller than the bichir (the bichir can chock), and if you are catching them in the wild, check if the frog are from pulluted waters or not. you don't ur bichir to get poisoned. i'm pretty sure feeder frogs in lfs store are quite expensive and rare.

lps almost never sells them (in canada thats the case). only "ornamental" frogs for around 4 bucks each.

i think the frogs can have diseases but dont know wether they will affect ur fish, unles is the dwarf frogs or african clawed they might get ur fish sick if they have a diseases or parasites.

I was told that because amphibians have thin skin that they easily absorb diseases so be careful.
