Hello, I was preparing some feeders to be euthanized and then frozen near the tank (my fault for not thinking ahead) and a few jumped into the tank and were consumed before I could get them on the 26th and now my Siniperca roulei has begun to show signs of a disease. The fish in question showed no signs on the 27th and I did not step into the fishroom on the 28th and only went in today at 9pm so there is a roughly 48 hour period it showed up I’d say. No other fish in the tank are showing any signs. The signs that the fish are showing are white bumps extending off of the fishes body not the same way ich does. Please see pictures provided. I can get more pictures if necessary.IMG_6664.jpegIMG_6665.jpegIMG_6666.jpegIMG_6667.jpeg

I've never encountered anything besides ich so I’ve no idea what this is nor how to fight it. Can I please get some help on my next steps?

Is the fish acting weird at all? Does it seem irritated or are the white spots all you notice?
My first guess is lymphocytosis. Generally it appears as a result of some stressor (water, diet, etc). In almost every case it’s self limiting and harmless to the fish.
My other guess is episylis. Admittedly I don’t know too much about this disease, but it is generally treated the same as ich.

It was acting off and not food aggressive as it normally was. It showed no interest in food at first and then after a while it would come at the food like it was interested but wouldn’t actually eat the food, only act like it was interested.

Do you think I should treat it like ich and raise the temperature and add salt?

Ive had good results with seachem kanaplex for anything external like this like fungus, white spots/patches, labored breathing at the surface.
Recently been buying cheap n dirty chain store fish for my 3yr old and the kanaplex has brought back a number of fish with similar symtopms.

If you can get your hand on seachem polyguard, it may be a good treatment choice.
Seeing the fish again and hearing the symptoms reminds me a lot of something that happened to my Dempsey last year - nothing really helped but the polyguard cleared it up super fast.

I can’t get either medicine in store given all I have are big box stores around me now so the medicines are coming through the mail. Any ideas on how to manage it until they get here?

You can definitely try salt and see if it provides some relief.
What do you have on hand right now?

I have nothing atm except for salt. The Siniperca roulei is currently staying on the floor and is having extreme difficulty in keeping his balance and is falling on his side along with his colors having gotten a lot lighter. It appears death may be coming unfortunately. Another water change and salt is being performed.

It appears that I was right, death claimed him in the middle of the night.

Sorry to hear. Unfortunately there really wasn’t anything to be done but wait, but it still sucks to lose a fish.
