hey ima start a 5g(hopefully 10g) feeder fish tank as a treat for my bichirs and abk. they are also food for my needlefish but i dont noe what type of feeders to chose.and ys i am going to breed them
I haven't experience breeding rosies, but there will be many here who have.
Breeder guppies are easy, cheap, and prolific. A 10 - 20 gallon setup with plenty of vegetation / fake plants will be perfect. Try a 5 to 1 female to male ratio, and leave it a few months before and you won't run out of feeders for a long while. The more you start with the quicker you can start feeding.
Mollies are another option. They are larger, and thus you can't keep as many, but the fry size at birth is significantly larger than guppy fry.
I have a 10g with 2 baby endlis in it - got a large group of feeder guppies of all sizes and put it in the tank. The babies snapped up the smaller weaker fish within a week, and the strong large ones are left and are breeding. The fry they produce goes down and gives my endlis a nice shot of protein
yup unless rosys work. i could also net them at a lake. also i have my danio in my 60g and he seems to be doing fine. also ive been adding alot of CYCLE to my tank. do u think i can add a petsmart senegal tomorow?
