Testing out this terrible/basic set up.

This is my AMAZING setup..

5liter(I think) plastic container/aquarium thing sitting on top of a home depot bucket.
1bubbler head
$1-2 worth of those marble/rock things that I purchased mid 90's as a kid for no reason at all.
1magnetic tank scraper thing disguised as a pleco for tank decoration.
1chunk off of a plastic plant I have in one of my other tanks.
Last but not least $1 worth of feeders!

I have had 11 of them in there for 12-16 hours and all of them seem to be in good shape (none died yet.) What else do I need to keep them alive and healthy until I feed them to my other fish? The water I have them in is room temperature so I wasn't sure if I was going to have to get them a small heater or something. I was also wondering about filtration for them.. Should I go out and buy a small sponge filter for $3-4 and lose the bubbler head? Or should I get a small mechanical filter? I have been netting up all of the visible stuff and I hooked up my tetra whisper that I use for my 30gallon for about 10 minutes and let it run some of the dirty water through it. Thats about all I have to say about them for now. I have been feeding them "wardley essentials goldfish flakes" but I think I am going to throw a piece of lettuce in there for them tomorrow.

Am I missing anything?

What kind of feeders???

Yes what kind of feeders? Rosy reds, Guppies, goldfish, What?

either guppies or goldfish. I'm like 75% sure on guppies.

Guppies may need a small heater..

Gold fish no heater but probably a more efficient filter.. And salt on hand :D

you tell me..

I'd also like to know what kind of feeders are the cleanest/least likely to catch disease/easiest to breed if somebody knows.

I did throw about a 1tsp of salt in the tank for starters, you think I should add more? Do they eat it or does it dissolve?

what kind of veggies should I feed them?

try algea waffers for plecos they don't need it thow and the salt helps but goldfish don't need it either and a bubble filter would be nice but they take up room they don't eat salt it dissolves and you should dissolve it before you add it to the tank just do a %50 water change every few days and they should stay alive take out any dead ones you see and add a parasite remover and wait a couple weeks
and pretty much all fish can cary stuff i've heard guppys carry a nasty little parasite i forgot the name but make sure you keep guppies for atleast a month before feeding them just so you know
