an issue with goldfish is the presence of a 'spine' in the anterior of the dorsal fin, this can prove problematic if the fish swallows the feeder the wrong way or further issues in the digestive system. goldfish are just not a good feeder (not that feeders in general are that great). if you have to feed feeders, as mentioned above, go with guppies or rosies. i prefer rosies since they seem to be a little less susceptible to ich and the like...although its good to quarantine feeders if you can.
DO NOT USE FEEDER GOLDFISH
they are oily not very nutritious and constant feed of them causes faty deposits on the liver they also contain very high levels of Thiaminase a destroying hormone.-Anne

Depends on where you are, in N.Dakota cutlip minnows and chub are sold 8"-12" long as bait for pike and muskies, not cheap but cheaper than gold fish the same size
Feeders=bad food=just entertainment for oneself. If you must feen them convicts or guppys, at least they'll contain less "growth hormone" than feeders do, which is hella-bad for you fish...
Don't feed your P's feeders!!! Give em some good stuff like beef heart, smelt, cat fish nuggets, silver sides or shrimp if you want your P's to look hot as hell and be healthy and happy.
Hello everyone ! I too agree with Little Waffen but if you are goning to feed them feeders then check with your lfs, I work for a lfs and we have a few people that buy their feeders in lots so we charge cost plus 10% (for shipping) and it still comes out really cheap.
