Koop i dont think you`re a hater , maybe i have big hands, just take a bit more time to look at a fish and you can roughly tell the size by the shape of the head and its height.
The fish was bought in 2 months ago. I have another one at 13ins that i got 3 years ago exactly at 10.5ins. 1st pic-

And the one in the box is 15ins if you include the very end of the tail!

thats a very nice looking fish man! mine was 13.5" when it was brought in last year...i havent had it out of the tank since to measure it.
 
Cheers, I havent measured the first fish myself that was a pic the importer sent me, i agree its not a good idea to haul them out of the tank just to stick a tape against it, another pic

definetely not a good idea to do. they put up a good fight and can totally beat themselves up.
 
Man.. these pictures almost make me wanna set up another tank for a giant rhomb... hmmm lol im kinda scared to hand feed any of my p's tho..
