I feed mine mostly frozen bloodworms and frozen beefheart. It could care less about any pellet or flake food I have tried. Mine will come out activly when feeding time is around. It would never come out at first but I refused to spot feed it and after about a week it was out like a champ with all my other SA cichlids on frozen food days. It usually never eats on pellet days but comes out regardless.
