That's not very scientific, now is it? :D It sounds like the LFS is perpetuating the cat fish myth of poisonous spines. Very few cats have venom glands. Blues, channels, and gafstop cats have barbed spines that poke going in and rip coming out. They often cause nasty infections because when they inflict a wound, you are usually not in a very sanitary condition (fishing boat, etc.). It is way too easy to neglect a wound when fishing.

As for the LFS's scientific approach of putting fish in a bag for half an hour...
YOU LISTEN TO THIS GUY???? If you put enough of anything in a bag for half an hour, you are going to get a lot of dead fish. Air breathers such as cats are going to be the last to die. Lets just say that cory's do secrete venom...to get it to toxic levels in a bag would take overpopulating the bag to deadly levels of fish even if they were not secreters (not enough O2). Second, if toxins were high enough to kill other fish it would also kill the corys. (example, rattle snakes will die if they bite each other).

you know im learing that this web sight realy sucks and so do all the people on it... can u cancel an account?

No need to get defensive when someone corrects something that was wrong. We all have to do our part to make sure that correct information is spread. Maybe this could be an opportunity to do some research and educate the guy that has educated you. Don't take it the wrong way, but if you want to...there's not a lot we can do about that.

This website is the best thing that ever happened to my fishkeeping life. Everyone gets corrected at some point.

I agree with this statement. The first time I was corrected I was taken back as well. Until I thought about why I come to this site. It is not to show that I am an expert but rather to communicate with, learn from and hopefully share some of my experiances.
It would be a shame to cancel an account over something like this.;

I'd get him something else. Feeders=disease. and goldfish aren't healthy for other fish as a staple.
