I feed mine pellets, beefheart, shrimp, smelt, earthworms, and whatever else he grabs from the other fish. I only feed once a day, but I would feed the little guy a couple of times.

What kind of shrimp where do you get it from? and what kind of pellets?

P.S.- That's not my jag in my avatar

just raw shrimp from the market, hikari and omega1 pellets.

just make sure it's raw, and you might want to pull the shell/tail while the fish is smaller. I dont worry about it with the big fish.

They're ok, but there is a lot better. Get some omega1 pellets:) He'll probably love them

I feed my jag a variety of pellets and flakes, smelt, shrimp, squid, beefheart bloodworms trout worms etc..... My jag will eat just about anything that hits the water. Good Luck

My jags won't eat fish, live or dead (besides the zebra danios they polished off their first day home from the fish store). Is this weird? I always heard that jags are voracious predators and all, but mine will actually take the fish and then spit it out like they don't like the taste. I'm just curious if anyone else has had this experience. Just for the record, I've tried silversides, plattys, and my idiot roomate dropped some feeder goldfish in once. All the live fish were killed, nothing was eaten. Other than fish my jags eat great. Thanks.
