Feeding baby cichla!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Take the pellets in a pepper shaker to feed to your babies. Sorry it had to be that way ): Blackworms are always a good idea. Buying them a little bigger would be a better plan because they are not as stressed

Next time make sure they dont have a 5in gar as a tankmate. Use a bare bottom tank so you CAN feed blackworms. And most importantly.....have you temp set to 87.

how's water ocndition adn where you buy ah ? .. so cheap meh lol.
2ndly ... 1" pb vs 5" gar... not great... getting chased by the gar will be bad too.. their still young.

Can easily stress them out.

I got mine at 2"... they grow up really fast at tat size

Well like i mentioned in another post earlier, they looked really weak when i bought them. Water conditions were okay. Only thing i did when i put them in was to increase the temperature from 22 to 27 degrees celsius. I think it might be the gar though. I just got home and one of my senegalus is dead at the bottom of the tank. They were all fine before i put in the gar.

Oh well. I know now, might stay away from PB for now.

Next time i'll remember to keep them alone. Thanks.

sorry for your loss but yeah like gangster said next place them in a separate tank
they were prolly stressed especially with that gar lurking around
as for food try bloodworms, blackworms, and small guppies or mollies
at that size i usually try to fatten them up as fast as possible

best of luck next time
