feeding baby turtle?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I caught the adult last year and he ate pellets out of my fingers an hour after I put him in the tank.

Look at it's plastron (underside), are they any sings/remnants of a yolk sac?

Should look exactly what it sounds like.
That should roughly tell you if it did actually just hatch.

is it wrong to take turtles from the wild?

Babys-not ok but passable considerig only 1 out of like 20 makes its first 3 years.
Adults-unless to save them, its very wrong, they are the breeders and boosters of the populacion, considering how long it would take to replace them and how many had to die so they would make it, it is very unreasenable, populacion could crash if the bigger adults specialy females are taken

ok then because im collecting some for a friend of mines pond(collection site is private property) and im only collecting like5 at the largest are 4 inches in length.
