Hi all, how often should I feed my Silver that is slighter longer than 2 ft? I feed it with Hikari food sticks once a day as a staple, and feeders once a week. Is that too much or too little? Thanxs

Cut out the feeders, add market shrimp. You can get a bag of frozen shrimp for 4 bucks, 61-70 count. Thaw them in some water, shell 'em, toss them in. Cheaper and much better for your fish.

I agree with the frozen market shrimp, Keep feeding the hikari daily and 4-5 shrimp every other day three times a week(so you will skip two days at some point)

Thanx guys, for the replies. i've had the fella since he was 4 inches, and so far no problems with feeders; Maybe i'm lucky. But will try market shrimps.

why use feeders their is no need for them

its a bit bad IMO in the wild the fish have a chance to escape

use meal worms or crickets insects dont matter :D

I agree.

I hope your 2 aros are big eater if not, they won't take market shrimp. Since you feed feeders for a long period of time. It get used to it already. For big aros, i think you should cut down to 1 meal per day, 50-70% full.

LOL! I'm from Singapore and over here, feeders are cheap and you get a whole variety. For 2 bucks, you can have a bag of baby Channa micropeltes, baby or baby Clarias gariepinus, mollies, swordtails, aquatic frogs etc; it's convenient that's why. Mealworms are common too, but i find it's messy to feed because you'll have 'snow' in your tank when the aro eats.

say that to the "crazy retards" on like "monsterbugkeepers"..
