feeding blood worms

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yeah, blood worms are good for almost anything but mbunas.
they should have balanced diets with protein and greens. that's why a lot of staple foods have both in the ingredients. fish are like anything else, they need a range of nutrients to be healthy

firemouths are central american, so no worries on that. and dempseys are SA cichlids as well.

so you should be fine. =]

are the frozen Hikari bloodworms a good addition to a JD's diet?

When feeding frozen food, definitely go with Hikari brand. it has added vitamins.

the other guy was right about not feeding worms to fish too often. my Oscar won't touch anything but earthworms right now. time to starve him a little. he needs to learn to appreciate the Cichlid Gold I'm trying to feed him.

Blood words are high in protien, expecially the frozen cubes from hikari, they ahve made all of my cichlid thrive and grow rapidly. Cichlid gold is also good for JD's as well.
