Feeding boiled egg to cichlids

Is there any benefits to this?

Not as a staple but for extra protein?
Honestly from my experiences with feeding boiled eggs to fish is that unless the fish decide to eat it all immediately it's not worth putting it in the tank just do to how badly it will affect your water quality. Only time I ever feed boiled eggs to fish is if I have hundreds of starving fry as they will eat the entire yolk almost instantaneously. But otherwise I stear clear from adding any part of the egg to a tank as all it takes is just one day and it can start throwing your entire tank off balance.

Personally I would try it once and see how it goes. If they go crazy over it, great then ya got a new food option, but if not I would remove it from the tank immediately and do a small water change.

If you do feed boiled egg, use only the white. That doesn't immediately cloud the water, can be easily noticed by the fish, and is easy to remove. The protein of an egg is also mainly in the white.
