Feeding cichlids earthworms?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
agreed! This thread started out as a question many of us have asked, and turned into high school dramafest! Feed them the damn worms and get over it! He took your girlfriend, get past it! There are plenty of fish in the sea! (metaphor) (but in the real sea, fish eat worms)

Haha well if hes never had a girlfriend then I cant take one of his.
What about feeding them shrimp? is there a specific kind (besides brine shrimp) that is especially nutritional? I know it would cost a lot but for future reference?

Yes i do. I'll sell them before they get too big

Mises shrimp are good. You can get freeze dried pretty much anywhere.

All my cichlids, rays, cats and just about every other fish i have love them. Worms are great for adding weight to any fish but should only be offered as treats imo.

Raise some red wigglers in a compost from your food waste and it's even better. You can order them online too, they breed like crazy in a 3x3x3 compost bin.

+1. I raised red wrigglers for years in a simple rubbermaid bin with a holes in the lid and a plug in the bottom to drain out the "worm tea" (house plants loved it!)

Any of my finicky fish, young fish I wanted to bulk up, and tiretrack eels just loved them.
