Whenever possible, feed your aro shiners instead of goldfish (Of course, gut-load both prior to feeding out). Shiners contain less thiaminase than goldish which will allow your aro to assimilate more nutrients from what he does eat. Also try carnivore floating sticks. I have yet to have one of my aros refuse the sticks once they tried them.

Gutloaded crickets, gutloaded superworms, carnisticks and massivores will all work better than live gutloaded feeder fish for aros specifically. The tilapia is better too, but should be combined with these other foods for added nutrients the tilapia is missing for long term health
I don't feed the aro feeders only the gar if I can help it every one else gets massivore pellets I buy the feeders then feed all the fish pellets untill they can eat no more then I put the feeders in,a couple get picked off from the other fish but I only buy 20 and the gar gets most of them.
