Feeding dat

I was feeding my dat frozen silversides. I left out the container so they spoiled, the only place that sells them around me is like an hour away. So I went and bought a haddock filet from the grocery store and sliced it up. He loved it. My question is, is this essentially the same or better or worse than silversides. Is there a better fish to choose. It definitely saves a lot of money. What's everyone's take on this?

I don't really feed any of my fish silversides. All of my dats eat pellets as well but when I do give them a treat, it's usually shrimp or Pollack. I would feed Haddock before I fed silversides.

I tried to pellet train but he won't even look at them. I caved after day 32 he was looking pathetic with no hope of eating a pellet. I do stuff them in the silversides. So it probably better to buy filets.
