feeding feeders caught from lake...shad, minnows..etc

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I too have fed my rays fish that i have caught (freshwater, saltwater, crayfish.., etc.) and had no problems what so ever... I think that you just need to be smart about it and take all of the obvious and neccessary precautions and you will be fine.... just be smart about it....

Nic is right about pollutants... this to can affect a fish's health just as much as a human......, so dont feed your rays anything that you wouldnt eat and you will be fine....

I dont see a prob with feeding wild caught food to my rays. Those we get from the stores are at some pt also wild caught or raised in overcrowded ponds.

Having said that, i always quarantine wild caught mollies and shrimps before feeding with anti paracites and amoxycin. I also inspect the water in which they are caught for possible pollutants i.e foul smelling snagant waters are a definate no.

Hope that helps.
