Feeding fish leftovers (of meat!)

Why is salt bad? I mean assuming it's not fully encrusted with salt, why is it necessarily a bad thing?

I am noticing that he is having a bit more trouble processing the salmon. He still has a belly going today when usually he processes food exceedingly fast. Not too worried, but it's good to know to avoid salmon. Any type of fish that is particularly good vs bad?

They wouldn't normally eat salt and poultry in the wild, if you have money don't be cheap and feed food scraps! Believe me I have piranhas and when I cook id love to throw a strip of Bacon in but I assure you a steady healthy diet will ensure many years for you to enjoy your pets!

A little salt isn't going to be a big deal, but it can be toxic at higher levels. Better to be safe then sorry imo!

Talapia, smelt and shrimp are great choices for fw fish, they have little oil in them and great protein, I also supplement my fishes diet with a good brand of pellets!

lol, I feed my fish anything I eat.. but in moderation of course.. and i dont feed them anything they wouldn't find in the wild (ie beef and chicken ). but fish and seafood of all types. I usually put their portion to the side before seasoning/cooking it.

So no dont feed your fish hotdogs..

but alot of people admit to shrimp only diets for their fish... or tilapia ( blech! i avoid farm raised ) so tossing your fish some along with a balanced diet?.... of course its fine. its the mamalian proteins and avian that are bad.
