Feeding/Food suggestions.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I put what I plan on using in the fridge. But sometimes it's not thawed out all the way, they still eat it. Kind of like eating a popcicle, I guess!

Pickup some live earthworms from Walmart or the local bait shop. Rinse the dirt off and toss a few into the tank. Its usually like throwing Twinkies to a fat kid.

I've been thinking about trying hairless breeds of dogs, since they can't really digest the fur too well.

I would be concerned about the Nitrites

Unless this is a new tank something has interrupted the cycling process causing a mini cycle

It was most likely an ammonia spike that could be causing the lack of appetite but by the time you noticed and tested the water it was Nitrite

I would consider adding more bio filter or thinning stock

My nitrites are always between 0-5.

I check my water parameters every day, and nothing changed.

Thinning stock? It's barely stocked now. I took the raphael cat out tonight because my ornate was trying to eat it.

I am running 4 AC110s on it.

The only one not eating is the Cat, but I have managed to get him to devour market shrimp.. So i think he is just tired of the same old foods.

He does come out when the room is pitch black, so I am going to maybe try dropping in food before bed.

I think you are meaning to say Nitrates are 0-5?

Nitrates are normal

Nitrites are bad

That would explain the confusion ;)

Ah, yes.. Nitrates.. :D
