mine get float occasionally and I think it is more from stress than floating foods. Too many males, changes in decor, agression can trigger float even if your not feeding. It is curable if you make the fronts less stressed. I think over eating can trigger float also, most people feed way too much, fronts only need 2-3 small feedings a week as most fish do. Thera -a stinks
