Okay, this isn't getting any easier. I can get him to take feeders and pellets, but I 'm still having trouble with shrimp/prawns etc. I'm using hemostats to get the shrimp in front of him, and even leaving the hemostats proped on the lid holding the shrimp in the water. I guess mine just doesn't have the prey drive/food response that most aros do. The pieces of shrimp are sized small enough that I can't really get any pellets shoved into it to get it to float. I think maybe I'll try meal worms or superworms. I just want to try and feed him a variety. As posted I'm sure I could starve him into taking it, but I want to keep him full and happy, to encourage growth. Any other aro feeding tricks from the pros?
Just stop giving feeders, they dont do anything but make fish sick...Seriously, your aro KNOWS you're soft and that you're going to feed him, thats why hes refusing shrimp LOL, at this rate, he'll never take it. Stop feeding for 3-4 days and throw in a shrimp again. If he doesn't take it, only offer shrimp until he'll eat it.
