Feeding Hikari food sticks

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Variety is the spice of life
but, i found that there are 2 foods that have the fastest growth, best colours i have ever used.
HIKARI is the ONLY brand i will ever use from now on and i am not paid or sponsored by hikari, whcih is a shame!!!!!!!!

but massivore delite and aro sticks/jumbo sticks are the best pellets for aros, monster fish i have ever used.

the growth is exceptional - finnage gets bigger than usual and almost it over laps and grows more than it should! lol

but, i found that with my jardinii that i had.
a combo of fresh prawn meat, raw uncooked and pellets had the best results.

i had a rule
morning, pellets/massivores only
evening, prawns
if they dont eat pellets in the morning, no prawns at night.

this was the best fastest growth i had.

in theory, the pellets contain much better protein, digestible and vitamins that fortify the food.
you are lucky, stick with pellets!

I had only okay experiences with Hikari Food Sticks. They grew well... but in the long run they just weren't that healthy, became lazy, and fasted for me more than I would have liked. I prefer NLS. I train all my aro's on pellets now and if they won't eat pellets than well... they don't get to eat at all.

My Arowana ate a mixture of hikari pellets and certain bait fish I collected while fishing the Gulf of Mexico both whole and filleted. He grew very fast with the mixed diet. He truly loved insects too. Such amazing creatures!

Is a diet based solely on hikari food sticks not a good idea? I just got a silver aro and was wondering if I should begin introducing other food to his diet?

In the long run... I had only okay to bad results with a strict diet of hikari food sticks. Maybe switch it up with some other pellets (NLS FTW) and... a frozen treat once in a while if you really must.
