White fish meat (tilapia, flounder, catfish, ect) and shrimp 2-3 times daily depending on how much you feed each time.
You can also treat them from time to time with beefheart and bloodworms.
i think they do, you can also crush pellets, crush feeders, i have a meat hook hanging down in my aquarium that i hang food for them on, then after theyve had there fill i dont have to search for the rest on the bottom of the tank, just clean off the hook, also keep plenty of feeders in there for them to chase and fin nip on
i have 4 rbp that are under 2" and they maily eat guppy minnows and gold fish.. may not be the perfect diet but they seem to be getting bigger and after they eat you can see they are full..
I put in 4 guppies when i got mine, now there are 8 guppies.
Funny thing is, the p's just arent interested in the guppies. They come down and feed on the scrap of whatever the p's are eating.
But, eventually there will be no guppies.
Dont think that they dont have teeth. I've been feeding mine shrimp since day 1 at just over 1" and they where able to rip apart a whole shrimp.
i have 4 rbp's (soon 7) @6-7" long and feed them uncooked shrimp(brown not orange),beef hart, and the odd goldfish. I have never been succesful with dead minows or pellets though.
when my p's where 2" or so they had a gold fish in their for three months. they would eat his fins wait till the fins grew back then eat them again. this happened quit a few times till i woke up one morning and their gold buddy was gone.
