if you wanted a fast swimming shark like fish and arent already saving for a 300+ tank you should have gotten a shoal of bala sharks, they dont get anywhere near as large, they are enthusiastic eaters, and IMO alot better looking than id's (no offense to all you id owners)

yeah I looked at the bala's. they seemed to have more of the head of a fish. And to me didnt' seem as shark looking. And no to everyone that has asked already. I said red tail shark (red tail black shark) .. not RTC. this shark only gets to like 6-7 inch's

just so u know, I'd sharks seam to like vegetable based food when bigger, mine won't even look at feeders and will only eat veggie pellets( he is 6" long and in a 180 )

i feed mine shrimp pellets and brine shrimp they will eat so many pellets they swell up they are fun to watch eat. I have had mine for 2 months in a 150 bought them at 2inchs or so there almost 6 inchs now give or take.

the problem with the ID sharks is that even while they are relatively small, in a small tank they will smash their snouts against the glass ever time they get startled, and the injuries don't tend to go away (look at the snout of any big ID shark)

either way, you will need a bigger tank...much bigger tank. At least a 300g for the id sharks.

Yeap, they get massive. The larger they get the more food ...feeders, shrimp and what not.

so at what size can they eat feeders? mainly guppies

the most likely will have an easier time eating stuff like pellets or flakes rather than guppies

id's shouldn't have feeders. 1. because feeders are bad for fish 2. Id's have bad vision and have a very hard time catching feeders, in my opinion
