I read that rtb are so passive they do not use their teeth to fight off cichlids and just get clobbered
I think a lot of places are getting rt barracuda mixed w pink tail chalsea which act like barbs I don't think they have teeth

I have pink tail chalceus.....can't see any on them if they have teeth. They are sure hungry. My barbs will pick on them at times.

Same, cause if you look up red tail vs yellow tail , it was said they were much more personable and aggressive and hungry. Don't know how true this is, as I have no idea first hand experience with either (could never find any at the right time). But maybe your experience proves it to be true a little? Though it can just be an exception

what kind of barbs do you have? the cichilds seem to mix fine with the cuda but they are in a 125-150 galon six foot long tank, he leaves the cichilds alone its just he tried to eat a fish that is almost the same species but he lacerations were around the neck like he just mauled the crap out of it the hauja gar is fine though after a dip but has no snout anymore but they are seperated for life

I have pike cichilds in there

are cichild pellets good for false baracudas and gars from the tetra family ? my gar loves them

big pink tails go for around 15 here the big cudas are the real red tails are around 70 bucks huge price gap

the store will call the pink tails sharks and or cudas also some stores at least do or even one place called it a tiger fish lol

I keep filament barbs and they get 6 inches and grow fast. They are always moving. They get some good color too.

I got my pink tails for 20 a piece. Mine are about 6inches and thick.

Cichlid pellets are ok on occasion for cudas.

Hey TY my cuda is very healthy and hits things like pellets even he eats like a beast but what is shocking is his speed so fast, makes a rainbowfish seem slow?

He is the only fish that is always left alone in my tank no matter what, i wonder because he might lash out with teeth if another fish like a pike cichild trys to bug him?

I am afraid for my fingers tho when he hits frozen shrimp I dont put my fingers in there damn

Anyone have these right now? THe small ones i found died so easy but this bug one is growing and mroe and more healthy every day.

He even ate a superworm which i buy in build for my birds but he hit it and just gobbled it in seconds

it took a while but now he will accept ANY food even reptile pellets

I guess he was worth it but he can\t be kept with hajua garrs he will just shred them for some wacked out reason
