feeding liquid multivitamins

Hi.
Currently i am feeding my flowerhorn, shirmps and pellets soaked in multivitamins(liquid). Is it safe to do this.
Also i feed the same to my oscars and convicts.

I've actually considered doing this, but was always hesitant because of dosage. The way I had heard it done was by adding it to the water. What kind of vitamins are you using? It is possible to buy water treatment with them included.

Well, currently i am using a liquid vitamin. i add a drop of it into 2-3 drops of water and them soak either some shrimps or pellets for 5 mints.
then feed them.
They seems to enjoy.
NO comments on the results cos
tried this thing from this sunday
so had to wait for 1 week or so for the results to show.

i dont know as iv never used them, but it doesnt seem like its neccessary to me, just feed good pellets and raw shrimp/insects and you will see great growth without adding any kind of chemicals to their food

I would tend to agree...but I know folks have tried it before. I lean on the cautious side. The only time I seriously considered it was with a couple Oscars suffering from HLLE. The trace minerals were supposedly a good thing. In the end I just went with water changes and good food.

Dosage is tough, and getting the right vitamins is important. What has been formulated for a human isn't what would be formulated for a fish.

Also, you don't know what your fish are lacking or already receiving. Too many vitamins is bad just as too few are. Most good pellet brands today contain all the vitamins your fish will need. Be wary of some of the bulk foods though.

Additionally, vitamins added to the water in a freshwater tank will have little to no effect as FW fish do not take in water in the manner that SW fish do. All vitamins should be, therefore, consumed.
