Hi sorry to jump on your post but i have a similar question,
am i best off not feeding my loach a pellet (all i have atm) if i want him to eat the snails..?
the current food i stock atm is flakes,pellets,algea disc thing,and some frozen stuff. as im new to the fish keeping i keep reading a varied diet works best , but i really do want my botia robusta to just get stuck in on the snails so should i avoide his specific diet for one day and feed him every other day hoping he eats the snails and left overs???
i dont wanna be cruel to him because hes awsome!! but equally i want rid off the snails

Follow Lupin's advice above & crush a few snails for them. Feed only crushed snails for a day or so & they'll never want pellets again. Of course, you have to keep their diet varied, so keep rotating your foods & they'll learn to eat everything you throw in there.
right tonights mission to find and crush as many snails as possible!! i can see it know tho all eating the crushed snails other than my robusta! lol
