how do you know they eat mostly incests from the surface?

none of us know that for sure, youngling aro's will go for insects, but sub adults and adults cant fill off of insects for the rest of theyre lives.

there isnt enough study to suggest what they do and dont go for.

There was a video from, either discovery or smithsonian, that had a section on the SA aros. In the video there is a clip where a silver jumps out of the water and snags a small monkey. Not only are they adapted to eating mammal flesh, they can, and will eat mammals.

well okay then. in that case, I think there is nothing wrong with feeding them mice.
 
Only problem I can see is the hair, and the claws choking, or scratching them on the way through. As long as you feed these only occassionally there shouldn't be a problem though.
