Thanks Bottles.
I have been losing a good part of the floating plants (maybe 30-40%) and it doesn´t look so nice nowadays. Hoperfully they´ll recover.
On the other hand, I added a ~1m cork pipe that creates a shadow area benetaht it and a great place for the female to retreat (inside) when the male is more aggressive. That side of the tanks looks really cool IMO. I´ll get a video this week or so
I'd like to see that cork pipe, sounds like a perfect addition to a channa tank.
I also had problems for a while with major die back in the floating cover. I recently did away with all water lettuce, and i'm quite happy. It makes great floating cover, but i found when it started to fill in I would get outbreaks of fungus/mold on it and it would rot away, it also really seems to help cyanobacteria thrive under it's leaves.
After removing it the floating cover lost all mold/fungus and cyanobacteria, It's now mostly water sprite and Anacharis and i dont get any die back or rotting like i did with the water lettuce even when it fills end to end and starts getting 10-12" thick , which does not take long with those plants.
