Hi what should my FH's diet be?

I got him 2 days ago, he seems to hate Hikari Cichlid staple, he takes it in his mouth then spits it out, he loves chopped mussel and prawn and eats it no problem.

I tried frozen Krill earlier and he took some, but not much.

Should i buy a bag of Hikari Cichlid Gold and try that?

I can't get Grand Sumo because of the price and delivery costs.

I have been offered...

Crystal Red, red head mark and Okiko by a guy on facebook which is £6 for 100g and £3 p+p for up to 3 packs.

What should i try? also how often should i feed him mussels, prawn, krill and bloodworm?

Also should i feed him peas?

Heres a few pictures of my new friend, what do you think of him :)

excuse the crappy phone pics

Hi thanks for the feedback but the foods listed are the only foods available to me without paying inflated prices and steep shipping costs

Don't feed him anything for a few days and then introduce the hikari to him. He should take em after he hasn't had food in a while. Stick to Hikari.

Thanks, so is hikari just as good as the expensive flowerhorn foods?

IMO, I'd pick Hikari over any FH food but thats just me. I feed my fish New Life Spectrum so I think thats saying something about specialty FH foods.

Why not try making your own fish food?
If that's a lot of hassle and you have limited options, I suggest you go for hikari..

Doesn't specialised Flowerhorn food increase the kok and the redness tho? or will Hikari do this just as well?
