feeding my vieja synspilum

hi , just bought a lovely vieja ( red head cichlid ) from my lfs and forgot to ask them what they where feeding him . so far he has eaten sinking carnivore pellets defrosted shrimp and peas . he has refused to eat tetra doromin , what is everybody else feeding theirs and is what im feeding ok . thanks

I have a big male fene that i thought wasn't eating for months.

Turns out he just likes to wait until dry food is soggy, and stuck on the filter intake
then he eats it off. He's also embarrased about eating in front of people.
Vieja are a very smart group of fish, that IME tend to be very individual and idiosyncratic.
Mine also likes to have the radio on playing classical music.

After i figured out his eating problem, I zeroed in on foods he does like.
I feed mainly 'regular' cichlid pellets and algae based pleco pellets,
along with nightcrawlers and brocolii ocasionally. Also ghost shrimp, which i think he mostly likes to chase.
